    Minor League Pickleball League (MiLP)

    RULES

MiLP will follow a format where teams play a series of 11 point games with side out serving to determine the winner. Matches consist of 6 games: four mixed doubles and two gendered doubles (women's and men's). If the match is tied, a "TeamBreaker"  (each team set plays 4 points and switches out to a different team set) tiebreaker is played. Scoring is done using rally scoring, and the winning team must win by two points with a cap of 21 and a team must win while serving..The order is as follows: mixed 1, mixed 2, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed 3, and mixed 4 and rotation starts over. Each grouping plays for 4 serves.

    COIN TOSS
At the start of each match, there will be a coin toss (or similar random selection). The winner will make a choice between these options:
To pick serve or receive AND the side you start on. This will be how each of the 6 games starts.
Or you can pick to “react” to the other teams mixed team (meaning they put down on the paper who is playing Mixed 1,2,3 and 4 first, then your team decides who plays against them.) With the exception of after the first 4 games, whoever is losing gets to “react” to the winning team putting out their final 2 mixed gender teams.

The games for each match  that will be played are one men’s game, one women’s game and four mixed doubles game. The same mixed team may not play a second match together.
All games will be played as scheduled if a team is unable to field a full team they must get a sub or forfeit the game. There will be no rescheduling of games except for weather related conditions.

    MATCH and GAME RULES
Match format: A match consists of six games, with winners earning points for each game they win.
Game scoring: All games are played to 11 points using regular play.
Winning condition: A team must win by two points.
Tiebreaker (TeamBreaker/DreamBreaker): If the match is tied after the 3 games, a mixed  tiebreaker is played.
Switching sides: Teams switch sides when one team reaches 6 points in a game, or at 11 pts of a TeamBreaker match.

    TEAM and PLAYER RULES
Team composition: Teams consist of 4 to 6 players, with a minimum of 2 men and 2 women.
Player eligibility: Players will register at their skill level. Directors have discretion to move players up or down a skill level.
Player substitutes: Teams may have a sub if a player is out but the sub must not have an individual rating higher than the league they are subbing in.
